Keeping Sisters Together

Share

Nearly half of all siblings are separated when they enter foster care, which is why 4KIDS strives to help more siblings stay together. For larger sibling groups we created 4KIDS family-style homes with full-time foster parents who have the space to keep siblings together.

An amazing thing happened at one of our family-style homes, Kids Place, this month! The very same day that we opened this home with new foster parents, Lee and Angela Gilreath, 6 sisters came into foster care. Thanks to the hard work of our team, and Lee and Angela’s hearts to serve these girls, we were able to keep them together in our home, defying incredible odds.

These 6 little girls, ranging in age from 8 years old to 5 months old, won’t have to be separated from each other. The trauma of being removed from the only home they’ve ever known is lessened significantly by keeping these sisters together. The girls and the Gilreaths are getting settled in and enjoying their time together. Lee and Angela are the perfect fit for these girls having raised 3 adult daughters already.
